Hit Parade

Posted on May 23, 2008 - Filed Under Just For Fun, Life, my opinions

Last week I did a post about some fun/fav posts I’d found and I’ve decided that I’m going to make that a regular Friday thing. Since I am going to make this a regular feature if anyone finds a great post that I miss, please feel free to send me the link too.

Drum roll, please… this week’s hit parade…

Once again, Curious C has an unusual post about one of her newfound hobbies. This girl has quite an imagination and I’m always intrigued by what intrigues her. Meme fans will especially appreciate this one.

A new discovery of a blog and blogger - I call her Joan of Fun on my blogroll and she is a hoot. As evidence by this post. Your trip to the mall will never be the same.

If you’ve never visited Alison at Silent Verses then you are missing out on some of the best prose on the internet. This poem really got me.

Another new blog/blogger discovery. She’s thoughtful and provocative and I loved this post because it made me think while at the same time seeming oh so familiar.

Christine - one of my favorite wordsmiths, says things in ways that no one else does. I wish my mind worked that way.

Mrs. V has an incredibly cute and funny video that is worth the time to watch. The good news is that the whole family including the dog will get a kick out of it.

This post I simply happened upon - I don’t know the blog or the blogger, but it was an extremely well written and informative post on freelancing. Definitely a must read for any writer.

If you haven’t, please do take the time and check out these posts and the bloggers who wrote them. It’s worth the time and may even expand your horizons, or at least, make you smile.

Enjoy!

Joan of Fun, now that’s a hoot. Thanks so much It’s nice to know that someone appreciates my blog. I am very honored and humbled. More honored than humbled, actually. It’s really boosted my ego. I’ll have to be careful I don’t get a big head, though it would match my big ass which I hope has gone down some when I go to Weight Watchers tomorrow.

LOL Joan - you and I seem to both have the big-ass syndrome. Maybe it’s just genes? Or maybe it’s just the jeans? Hard to say. ;) WC

    Wow Chica, thank you!
    i’m the tuba player…

You’re so funny, chica-chica - at first I didn’t understand the musical reference. Then when I did, the image of you hauling around a big ol’ tuba cracked me up. I know you won’t believe this but my cousing Billy John used to play the tuba in the school band. Those suckers are enormous. ;) Annie

I am certainly willing to read any blog you recommend. Lets see how long the kid lets me on the computer here…..

I’ve heard from other parents that if you give kids junk food and the tv remote, it greatly improves their chances of increased internet time. WC

you may get well known for sharing the love.
    Wonderful idea, kiddo.
Now, where’s my link? (yes, I’m just kidding)
    ~m

Aw, that’s sweet. The chances are good that you would have had a link in this post if I’d been able to travel more this week - but with current events being what they are, it’s greatly curtailed my visiting this week.

    Ali is awesome.

And BTW, Have a Great Memorial Day Weekend.

Yes, she is - quite so. And you have a good ol’ Mem Day too. I’m afraid it’s rainy and overcase here in Sunny Cali - so I’ll be forced to roast weenies over the the stove top - not to worry though, it’s a gas range, so we’ll have that lovely burnt flavor for our dogs. ;) A

These are great! Joan Harvest can crack me up so much ~ mostly it’s her blog, but other times I just such a kick out of what she writes at others blogs in their comment area- she is just a hoot. I’m going to have to check these out, thanks WC! Have a great weekend! I have been thinking about your friend and hope she is doing better! I will continue to keep her in my prayers for sure!

Joan is a definite crack up, which is why I call her Joan of Fun.

Please do keep Kelly in your prayers - she is doing pretty well but there is a long, long road ahead. Thanks for all your good thoughts.
    Love

I love your hit parade. What a novel idea. Wonderful links too. Funny and very creative. Thanks! (I know I haven’t been around for awhile. It’s been one thing after another, but here it is the holiday weekend–yippee! Time for fun online.) Still loving your blog.

    ~ PG

    Hey PG,
Do check out the links - there is some really good stuff there. LOL - once you hit the self-employment realm, holiday weekends really lose much of their meaning, don’t they? ;) A
