Food For Thought…

Posted on October 9, 2008 - Filed Under Deep thoughts, american idol, classics, quotes

“I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around the banks will deprive the people of all property until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered.” — Thomas Jefferson 1802

(Funny how some things just don’t change, isn’t it? Something to think about. WC)

Some things never change, and history has a tendency to repeat itself.

MJ´s last blog post..Note to Idiots

    I’m gobsmacked here.
    Just how smart was Jefferson?
I wonder what he’d be saying about Wall Street today?
    Down again . . .
Jesus Krispies this is getting scary.
    Awesome find.

Brilliant is the word that comes to mind for me, Mikey. As to the crap on Wall Street, my feeling is we’re all being manipulated and we will continue to be so until/unless we insist the government be for, by and of the people rather that for, by and of themselves and their lust for power.
