Ghosts, Goblins & Other Stuff…

Posted on October 30, 2008 - Filed Under my opinions

I know that a lot of you are really into Halloween. Me, not so much. The only significant thing about Halloween to me is that my parents’ divorce was final on Halloween and I never have good costumes. That could be my problem, costume envy. Pretty much, once I got too big to have strangers give me candy for no reason other than the fact that it was October 31st, I lost interest. But for those of you who still enjoy, some toons thanks to Ger.

Ah HAHAHA! I love that last one. They do all seem to meld together since they have been stretched to cover an entire season and not just the single days they originally highlighted. But they were all quite funny. I love the flying off the handle one too. :) Thanks, Annie!

    Hey Teens,
Yup, I thought they were all a scream too (pun intended) - Happy Halloween. muwhahahahahahaha.

Maybe I should start carrying a broomstick instead of a cane. At least I could fly that way and take a load off my knees. Those were funny cartoons. I’m not a big Halloween person either. I never wear a costume to any parties I am invited to.

    Hey Joanie,
Naw, don’t get rid of your signature cane - how would we know who was going to whup the dumbasses then? I don’t do costumes either, I figure I’m scary enough. ;)

They’re trying to gather momentum for Halloween here in Oz, but I can’t get into it. Just seems to stretch the whole commercialisation thing for Christmas to me.
Having said that, you do realise it’s only 55 days till Christmas right??? Scary!!
Love the toons..I can really relate to the black sheet let me add…no shock there though!

Yes and next year they’ll be cramming Easter in there too. Anything for a buck I guess. And please don’t remind me that Christmas is only 55 days away - way too much to do and too little time to do it in. Yikes. ;)

    Hi WC,

I absolutely adore Halloween! Of course, I’m evil at heart.

    Hey Grit,
Somehow I’m not surprised that you love halloween. I have a good friend who is crazy for it. She dressed up her fist child as a bumblebee when she was three months old for Halloween. She fricking lives for that holiday. Me, I’m a Christmas gal myself. ;)

PS: Yes, you’re evil but such a nice evil though.

I love the last one. Scarily its true though.
I don’t get into Halloween either. The kids like it but I think that its just the lure of the lollies rather than anything else. They really don’t understand what its about, despite me explaining it sooooo many times. I think its a case of selective deafness personally.

And I don’t do fancy dress either as a general rule.

Well and I’d have to agree with you. And kids are not interested in what the holiday is really all about. I can barely dress myself as it is, let alone come up with a costume. ;)

Oh, jeeze, my favorite holiday is Halloween. I just wrote about it. I’m sorry to hear you’ve never had a good costume. Come steal one of my ideas for next year!!!

    LOL Girl,
Otay I’ll check your ideas for costumes. ;)

I too suffered from “sucky costume syndrome” all my life. :( Dang it. ;)

Really? No spidey costumes even? ;)

Almost every year consisted of the prefab plastic sheet material outfit, with the easy crack plastic mask, with the rubber band to hold it in place. And the one year I was Spider-Man, it was a generic Spider-Man. :? My parents weren’t very adventurous, and I wasn’t very creative.

LOL - sounds like me. I was more interested in the candy than the costume.
